Appearing on CNBC's Squawk Box, Senator Bob Corker calls for swift action to reduce out-of-control federal spending and reform the tax code. Corker says sweeping changes are necessary to broaden the tax base, lower rates across the board and put an end to more than 140 special interest tax deductions that total more than $1 trillion a year. Corker also argues for changing the Federal Reserve's dual mandate to focus solely on maintaining stable prices, which would contribute to a strong U.S. dollar.
