Sound i recorded playing with the grendel drone commander, built by Eric Archer from TX.

Also the "monotonic labs type n38 synthesizer" thingy.

Both connected to the korg koass pad.

Recorded on the computer using cool edit 2000.

  • Love the track! Question... Are rhythm and harmony of the drone commander purely a result of the knobs, or is there CV sequencing and external pitch shifting going on in there?

  • @animalfarm hmmmm, how to explain this. no CV or sequencing. the rhythm is just the drone commander truckin' along with some reverb from the kaoss pad while i alter the pitch of the drone commander by turning the "osc1" knob. that's all.

then the high pitched noises are the little "monotonic labs type n38" thing connected to the kaoss pad for some delay... i'm just tweeking the "pulse width" on the n38 while i wiggle the delay on the kaoss pad.

i know, not the best explanation. :-P

  • @zensekai1234 it "sounds like" there's more going on than there is.

  • how did you connect these two?

  • @Zweispeer

they are not really "connected" to each other.

    recorded 2 seperate tracks.

-drone commander + kaoss pad reverb on track one.

-then the n38 thing + kaoss pad delay on track two making the more high pitched sounds.

  • Just LOVE this!!

  • Really good stuff mon.

  • This reminds me of massive attack a bit, throughout the song I'm half expecting some heavy drums to break in. This deserves great respect
