So this is the first of what I hope will be many computer-physics animated Domino Effect videos.
It was made in Blender entirely in one night. Blender uses the Bullet Physics library, which is what actually animated the dominos themselves. The camera track was set up using classic Keyframe techniques.
I swear on my soul that no cheats were used to complete the domino effect. The ball drops under normal gravity, the rest is purely a chain reaction.
Hope you like it!

  • that is awsome

  • @Mrcheese952 thanks! Got some better videos on the go now... including a peek at my "Kinect for PC Profiler" which allows Windows 7 & Kinect owners to profile any PC game to be played entirely with the Kinect controller :D

  • that was extremely realistic with the physics. Awesome job.

  • @TheDiesoul Thanks... though I have to point out that this is Bullet Physics (the physics engine implemented in Blender's game engine)... I merely placed all the dominos (one by one with great care), set up the materials (because glass is awesome for dominos), set up the camera tracking and focusing spotlight manually (which took a while but was worth it) then rendered the result.

  • Nice render... that song sounds really familiar, what's the source?

It sounds like it's from the Gundam series...

  • Gundam SEED or Destiny ;)

  • I don't think there's a single Blender user at the mediocre level or higher that hasn't made a domino animation, but you made yours unique by coloring them as well as making them a glassy material.

  • Nice, the glass material adds a neat effect. What's the song called?

  • your're master!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG

    THis is fkn awesome

i bet the render time was 999999999 hours

  • nice! like the song:)

  • God damn terrorists ruined the ending >:(
