'version'? you can prefer whichever recording you want, but TMBG's recording is the only 'version' here- cub created new york city! theirs is not a 'version'- there is a big difference between creating something and re-creating it...

Thank you! It really annoys me when people compare covers with originals and acts as if the original is some kind of "copy". I like the TMBG version a lot, but really do prefer the original.

I only recently heard the Yum Yums cover of New York City on their CD "Whatever Rhymes With Baby". I''ve been a fan of Cub for years but somehow missed or forgot about this song. I think I like the original better too! Lisa has such a sweet voice. This video gives me such deja vu. Thanks!
