  • 'version'? you can prefer whichever recording you want, but TMBG's recording is the only 'version' here- cub created new york city! theirs is not a 'version'- there is a big difference between creating something and re-creating it...

  • Thank you! It really annoys me when people compare covers with originals and acts as if the original is some kind of "copy". I like the TMBG version a lot, but really do prefer the original.

  • thank u god 4 the 90's they are ok they are good

  • I love Lisa Marr

  • I only recently heard the Yum Yums cover of New York City on their CD "Whatever Rhymes With Baby". I''ve been a fan of Cub for years but somehow missed or forgot about this song. I think I like the original better too! Lisa has such a sweet voice. This video gives me such deja vu. Thanks!

  • Oh dear god, her voice is actually more annoying than John's and not in a good way.

  • JESUS CHRIST!! THIS IS LIKE DIPPING MY SCROTUM INTO A POT FULL OF WARM HONEY

  • wow i havnt seen this video in 15 years.

  • @SoulMusic121 I saw her with Buck several years ago, and she had a smile on her face the whole time. I've never seen anyone so happy to be on stage singing.

  • The harmonies when they get to the "three days" line in the last verse just give me chills every time. What an amazing band this was.

  • @dennis90214 Ever notice how TMBG singer sounded like Lisa Marr in the cover?
