Here's the demo portion of a presentation I gave at Erin's Pavillion in Springfield, IL, on May 24 2011. It's about two ways of integrating CRM and SharePoint: 1. using the CRM 2011 List Component for SharePoint 2010 to get automatic library and folder creation in SP from CRM; and 2. Contextual search of SharePoint from CRM records, using JScript and an IFrame.

It's a shame there's no metadata support in CRM - SharePoint is designed to negate the need for ANY folders. The way CRM does SharePoint is completely antithetical to the entire *point* of SharePoint. Microsoft really screwed the pooch on this one...

Yeah, I agree. I ended up putting in about 40+ hours of custom development effort to resolve that. Created a custom SP event receivers to listen on my library for items added, then uses CRM webservices to find the entity+metadata and associate with my item+content type columns in SP. Fairly simple concept, but was harder to pull of than I would have thought. It was really annoying for me that CRM List Component uses the entity 'name' field as the folder name and gives you no way to change it.
