Hyenas bugging lions

We took this video whilst at the Kruger Park close to Afsaal. The standoff between the lions (+- 8) and hyenas (+-20) lasted about 2 hours until the lions eventually slipped away into the bush. At the time our car was surrounded by 15 hyenas, although that is not clear in the video. The sounds they started making was pretty funny and filming became increasingly difficult and we just gave up ;)

@1outlawz We were quite lucky yes. We went again this year and actually saw two buffalo kills. Unfortunately no lion vs hyena fights.

Was there a dominant male lion present?

No, there were only the females at the carcass. The male was in the area but I think they had all had their fill.

It was filmed in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. That part is pretty funny :)

lol it's times like this the males are needed the most. Needless to say Hyenas pick the perfect times to harrass Lionesses.
