The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment is conducted by the period instrument pioneer Christopher Hogwood.
This just shows how acting and great singing are all you need in opera. Forget realistic sets, keep it simple and let the music speak for itself. The genious of Purcell really shines through we can only wonder at what would have followed had he not died so young.
