actually it was proven on mith busters that even a cable that stops an aircraft on a carrier breaking cannot physically cut a person in half. they even made a machine that whipped the cable faster and couldnt do it

the tow truck driver doesnt put anything on the cable incase it brakes, worse yet he stands in the path of a potetionally fatal cable snap that would cut him in 2.
