Even though I played the crap out of SF2, and to an extent; SF4, with my friends back in the day, I was never any good at it. The whole focus on zoning and keep away was something that missed me. When I got into SF3 back in the early 2000s, I instantly fell in love. My habit of wanting to get into your face and just keep on the offense paid in my favor. I was also quick on picking up the parry system, which gave me a huge edge over my friends who often just poked at the mech. calling it broken.

I play Guilty Gear pretty competetively, so it wasn't that hard for me.

Been playing fighting games since sf2. Played all capcom fighters except jojos bizarre adventure. I still think the system used in cvs2 is the best system. Since i played. 3rd strike in the arcade and on both ps2 and dreamcast i was able to get back into it a bit even though i have been playing ssf4ae alot. Still a great game.
Sidenote: they need to bring Rival Schools/Project Justice and cvs2 back for online play

I have played Street fighter 4 - super street fighter 4, Tekken, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and even games like Melty Blood and Arcana heart. I dont wanna say I am bad but I aint good either. I played my friends third strike on ps3 and got my tail end handed to me I just really aint any good at it, granted I do like this game though if that makes any sense. I was really hoping with the experience I had I would do okay but I just cant roll with this game. I do hope some day I can be okay at it.

i'm not very expierenced with fighters but i got the SF Alpha anthology on ps2 and i have trouble pulling off the super combos. i'm somewhat decent at the games, i would probably give myself a D+ or C-. which game should i download off he PSN (when i get a ps3) MvsC2 or SF 3 to get into fighters and which one is easier?

Never played third strike until it was re-released.*
I love this game. Unfortunately, I was never good at it. The parrying system both makes and breaks the game -- it makes for amazing fights that really feel like Jackie Chan style 1-on-1 brawls, but it's such a difficult mechanic that it really makes the game an elites-only party. This is a better game than SF4, but SF4 is more accessible.

Been playing fighting games forever but never played third strike. But third strike is better than SF4 in my opinion
