This year was my first year gardening. We have very hard red soil, lots of fire ants, making it hard to till up so I opted to plant some veggies in containers. I started with tomatoes and made my own upside down tomato plants. I then planted squash, zucchini, peppers, strawberries, peppers, cucumbers, cantaloupe, and herbs. The video walks you through what's going on in the garden and shows you little fruit starting to come out on some of the plants. I've had so much fun "playing in the dirt" this year and can't wait to build an above ground garden for next year. Mainly, this video is for my mom, who gets updates by phone but is long distance so unable to see the garden. This way she can enjoy it from afar. There's a special hello from one of my "babies" at the end!

  • WOW...you certainly have one heck of a green thumb. That is very impressive.

Oh, by the way, before I forget....I got a real laugh out of the speech bubble on your dog Peach. Too hilarious.

This is the first year I've started dabbling in the Topsy Turvy thing and to be honest, I'm gettin hooked. Love to check the plants every day. Your strawberries are so healthy looking. How long have you been growing them?

I'll be watching for future posts. Keep up the great work.

  • I like how you put yoiur tomatoe plants in buckets, very nice garden. Could you do a video on how you did it?

  • Hey this is great! You have tons of stuff that is growing like crazy. I have a whole series documenting my own upside down container garden and it is awesome to see others who have the same idea. I also have a bunch of stuff in ground containers too. Finally have some yellow squash! I'll be watching for updates, keep them coming.
