The Late Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine begins his speech at The New Humanism Conference in honor of the Humanist Chaplaincy at Harvard, April 21, 2007. Wine begins by thanking conference organizer and Humanist Chaplain of Harvard Greg Epstein, and by praising writer and co-panelist Sir Salman Rushdie.
Rabbi Wine was my friend and someone I have always looked up to and will always remember. He stays in my heart everyday. I hadn't expected it, but I am so happy how much he is with me.
May his memory be for a blessing. He was simply the best.

He was my mom's rabbi for her Bat Mitzvah. He came over to our house every time he was in town, he looked very young for his age!

I had the honor to see him at a HumanLight celebration one year, I still remember and take comfort in his speech on "Courage."
