Hi rockypro1,
The first bike I bought since moving to the UK was a Rudge. In better than average condition. Since then I'm restoring a Triumph, a Raleigh, and a Viking. Also I'm restoring an old Schwinn Beach Cruiser. Your videos help me picture how to tackle some problems. Thanks buddy,
R

Very interesting bike you've got there! What date is stamped on the rear hub? The chainwheel and spindle must have been replaced at some point in this bike's history as they're both from the mid-70s or later. That crank design wasn't introduced until 1976 (with the Herons rotating "backwards") and the dimpled spindle didn't show up until 1978 (at least on my collection).

Hi ZombieDawg, the date on the rear wheel is 50 so like you say maybe the wheel went on or the crank etc must have been changed, very strange though as it all seems to be original and nothing seems to be opened or changed. Or is it possible that the 1950'S wheel was put on by raleigh to this 1970'S if it is that year? bike not sure but anything is possible. cheers
