This is "Poland" (in 4 parts) from The Warsaw Concert by Tangerine Dream (Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke, Johannes Schmoelling). The videos had already been uploaded but the breaks between videos were not thematic (so the video could end right in the middle of a build, quite anticlimactic). So, I redid this with separate videos starting at logical breaks.

  • Erm, the first 45 seconds of music are Jean Michel Jarre.

  • @sofamonkey72 The concert is TD; who cares what PAGART wants to use as their intro theme music.

  • BYŁEM, była chyba mroźna zima ale JMJ nie było;-)

  • @moogwazhere do you know for certain that it is playback or is it just what you think?

  • LIVE ??? Yes the members of TD are live but the music is playback what a shame.

  • In the audio version of Poland, before the Polish introduction, the "orchestral strike" note they hit, is the same patch that was used in two other places in the 80s: Tangerine Dream's Sphinx Lightning off the Hyperborea Album, and in the movie "Highlander" when they see McCloud's apartment for the first time. I THINK it may also be the sound patch used in the beginning of the song "Beat It" by Michael Jackson.. just played higher up on the keyboard.

  • This must have been an extraordinary concert to attend. Thank you for this upload. By the way, the live album that came from these concerts, "Poland", will be re-released this year in a two-disk package! Just read it on their forum = D

  • @alexeykh Ouch! Many, many apologies. I only listened to the first part. It's definitely TD. I have the full copy of this.

  • @LeeBakerLegion See title (big letters) @ 0:52. At 1:08 you can see Edgar Froese for the first time. Additionally, I've heard the audio version of this, where someone (in Polish) introduces the band & its members. Maybe you noticed a similarity in melody (or somewhere else)?
