Violence, a deteriorating health-care system, and unabated attacks on schools are combining to hamper the progress of Afghanistan's children, according to the latest report by the UN's childrens agency.

Many are often deprived of their childhood, forced into the world of work at a very early age.

Al Jazeera spoke to one young Afghan, who works on the street to support his family of eight.
