She was an incredibly popular and, in many ways, inspiring New Jersian...and her home state (along with most everyone else) was shocked, devastated and felt a loss when she died. That's why the flag was at half staff.

I'm a 20-something NJ resident who LOVES Christie. Although I was disappointed with the veto on the gay marriage bill, he let us know very early that he would. (Though I think it was a political chess move in the way the opposition handled it).
Also, hooray for putting a cap on Superintendent salaries! A NJ superintendent recently crashed a TOWNSHIP-owned vehicle while driving drunk and on personal business... found out he makes $178,975 a year while Medford is racked with debt...
