Hey Keith! You Will Never and Not Be Forgotten! Rock in Peace!

i was a coal miner for 12 years this is a beautiful song ..
-
@lettermen1 Well i guess my question is who starts the song?
-
@lettermen1 : I think so, too - I have listened to this so many times!
-
@lettermen1 They absolutely did NOT switch off singing lead. That is Whitley through and through.
-
ANother GREAT post !!! Thanks so very much !
-
@lettermen1 : I think you're right - Their voices must have been quite similar at that time.

Is that keith singing lead great post?

@Master100Mind Thanks! It sounds to me like they alternated the lead, each doing it at different parts of the song.

Thank you, lettermen1, for posting this excellent miner's song. I believe it goes to the heart of the real tragedy of this month's mine explosion in WV, as well as the other mining disasters that have occurred in this country and elsewhere around the globe. Whitley and Skaggs' bluegrass version here is incomparable!

@justmusicandme You're right of course, Loretta, this is such an evocative song, and must be even more so for anyone caught up in such tragic events.......
