  • it takes me about 1 hour by myself to measure imu and gps measurements including calibration of imu and valve settings. The easy way and best way to calibrate the imu is with a smart tool . simply put the smart tool under the blade and enter in the slope. then place the smart tool on the mast when the cross slope is set to zero and inter in the main-fall slope.

Valve settings are the same as always set offsets low and equal, set gains as high as they will go with the least amount of overshoot.

  • Blade rotation causing slope error on a dozer is financially and mathmatically something that you do not need to worry about. Graders have them because Pitch changes the slope of the blade when rotated. Front wheels going over a bump. Dozer dont have wheels way out in front of the blade. Go debunk the moon landing Mensa member. Things to consider before buying Trimble : Its not as good as Topcon

  • I guess one only needs to look at the "reasoning" behind

this video post; sometimes negative marketing is the best

form of flattery. Go run both of these systems in the "real

world", check some grade, and check references. This

new technology from Topcon is for real, and wins hands down.

  • I have to agree with gottasscuba.. I have seen this system work side by side a Trimble system and Topcon 3DMC2 ran circles around Trimble.. I guess with the loss of market share Trimble has resorted to B.S...

  • Face it Trimble has lost many sales already to this product and will continue to until they come up with a solution.

  • I have run this system myself and tried VERY hard to make it cut bad grade, I ran it on a 2:1 slope with the blade slightly rotated and the dozer at about a 10deg angle of of parallel. I also ran a JD650J through an area with multiple vertical curves"Whoops" at 10 ft intervals and 1ft elevation changes in high 4th gear and it followed the design file perfectly. Then I was able to make a flat plane surface and wiped all the "whoops" out in finish grade fashion in one pass 4th gear.

  • You must work for trimble because every one of your statements are innacurate EXCEPT that the IMU is mounted behind the blade. Of course it is, Where else would a slope sensor be mounted. Show me just one operator that can grade a 2-1 slope in anything more than 1st gear and finish! I know you wont find that person. You CAN rotate the Blade but again, How many dozers even have a 6 way blade... Very few. IF the sensor or cable failed you are not "down"Maybe you should view some more of the videos
