  • hey david, what kind of strings do you use/prefer? they sound great

  • I use dean markley blue steel strings .011 - .052 - I like thick strings - beefier tone

    rock on!

  • Sir im a great admirer of your work! i have one small problem if you could tell me the solution please.

i bought a brand new guitar, the a and g and b strings give a buzz on the 3rd fret and on the 4th fret to a limit.

i tightened and loosened the screws on the bridge. the problem was solved to a limit, but the buzz isn't completely gone.

  • Sounds like your guitar may need a set up. Could be the truss rod needs adjusting or the action needs adjusting - either could give you a fret buzz.

    rock on

  • stupid!!!!

  • blues is easy to play, but hard to feel

  • hey man, im a beginner and i have no idea what you're talking about with all the letters and shit, all i know is fret numbers

  • dummy there is no "Cm pentatonic blues" penta means 5 "tonic" tone (5 tone scale) so you can play a Cm pentatonic (5 note) or a Cm Blues (6 note) ... and other modes...I hate people that teach that can barely play themselves it makes it harder for the real teachers correcting misinformation.... but hey that's the internet! any idiot can make a video!

  • what amp does David use, sounds great!

  • This video made me (the beginner say an year of learning at home) to explore blues that i like among other music. I found C pentatonic blues at 8 fret very convinient to practise licks and improvisational skills.

Got one question also. I have strat style guitar at present with 9-42 strings. Do you think that me, the beginner would be advisable to switch to say 10-46 strings to get more bluesy tone. Thanks!

  • Love the blues. Anybody heard of Fret Daddy fretboard stickers? Thinking of checking them out -- seems like a great way to learn the blues.

  • Useful - cheers
