  • Holy crap! Great presentation. What is your take on sodium intake. I know sodium affect certain hormones. I recently have lost 30 lbs from slightly changing my diet and (more importantly) working out (cardio and weightlifting) daily. I still have probably too much sugar in my diet, but I have lost a bunch of weight. I started wondering it I lost the weight from muscles but I am much much stronger than I was before and really never tired either.

  • @conard3 Sodium intake isn't an issue for most people. Some people have malfunctioning or damaged kidneys, and for them sodium intake can be a problem. For most of us, it has almost no effect on blood pressure.

  • @FatHeadMovie What do you eat? when i look at the nutruionalfacts label on the side of the food I buy what should i look for to know what to avoid?

  • @WarVideo Avoid anything with hydrogenated oils, seed oils, or soy protein. Better yet, base your diet on meat, seafood, eggs, vegetables, nuts, olives, a bit of low-sugar fruit, and a some full-fat dairy products. That will keep your carb count down and give you the nutrients you need.

Do you know whether the volume of food that we consume now is different than back in the day?

I just wondered when you were talking about proportion of the diet. Great presentation.Cheers.

  • @Per311 It's always a guess, since those figures are compiled from food production data, but it appears that we're consuming fewer calories than 100 years ago, but more than in 1970. Most of the extra calories we consume today compared to 1970 come from carbohydrates

  • good presentation,Tom. i just watched my copy of Fathead again. i wish everyone would watch it whether they agree with you or not. and with it being on Hulu, i try to get people to watch it. i was one of those vegetarians who got thin thru muscle loss and still retained my belly fat. couldn't figure it out until i watched your movie.

  • @rpmangin The Japanese consume fewer carbs per day than Americans, despite the rice. They eat rice; we consume rice, bread, donuts, cereals, pasta, mashed potatoes, french fries, ice cream, 44-oz sodas and Little Debbie Snack Cakes. Interestingly, the longest-lived Asians are the Okinawans, whose traditional diet included rice but was also heavy on pork and lard.

  • @FatHeadMovie Thanks for the reply.

  • @eternallyraven that is true, I am an Asian and I do walk everywhere. Also, we do not consume as much process food.

  • @FatHeadMovie

Very true, they also don't gorge themselves or eat huge quantities of food like we do.
