The professed goal of the group was the creation of a Greater Serbia, by use of violence, if necessary. The Black Hand trained guerillas and saboteurs and planned political murders. The Greater Serbian ideology including claims to territories of modern day Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia. Greater Serbian aspirations also included territories of Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania.

The Black Hand was founded on 6 September 1901.[1][4] Then was the first meeting of the conspirators. At the meeting were: Captain Radomir Aranđelović, Capt. Milan F. Petrović, Capt. Dragutin Dimitrijević, Lieutenant Antonije Antić, Lt. Dragutin Dulić, Lt. Milan Marinković and Lt. Nikodije Popović.[1] They made a plan to kill the royal couple, Aleksandar Obrenović and Draga Mašin.
