He is using a scale with the notes of C6 plus B diminished over Am7. All the footage is about tmoving notes in this scale.

@TJSax1986 - Mr. alford eliot's explanation is useful...but instead of the Eflat that he indicates substitute Enatural...[since, as he indicates, both major & minor scales can use the flat 6...]. You might want to think of this as a major scale with an additional chromatic 'correction' of the Aflat... The added chromatic note creates an 8 note scale which provides better rhythmic/ melodic synchronization...

@alfordeliot - An interesting explanation...but I would simply interpret this as alternating between inversions of the Am7 with those of E7...of course you need to understand which altered note(s) he uses on that "E7", i.e. F natural [flat 9th degree of E7]...I suggest viewing George Shearing's demonstration of the 'locked hands' approach [I saw this on BET Jazz - which no longer exists...] for a similar harmonization example...

Harris starts with 'locked hands' @ 00:20...moving to [chromaticized] 'contrary motion' @ 00:35...then demonstrating contrary motion using Am7 [C6 relative major] and chromatics....
