This Doctor is a quack!! I am 31 and I have Fibro!!! My hormones have been tested and are in perfect number!!!! This man must have not studied and have not dealt with Fibromyagia! This makes me mad. I have spent so much money and time going from doctor and specialist trying to find out what was wrong with me. I was told i needed a hysterectomy and my gallbladder taken out alone with others. My breast is too big and is causing my back pain. Give me a break & find a cure!

@troopcom Yep, Levaquin is a NASTY drug. Look up the reviews on askapatient sometime! I myself am completely crippled at the age of 31 due to six days worth of Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) and I can't tell you how many doctors have tried diagnosing me with fibromyalgia because they can't wrap their heads around the fact that an FDA-approved drug could possibly have done this to me. The damage quinolone antibiotics are capable of inflicting is absolutely ENDLESS. They are the stuff of the devil.

@papatoony I'm glad you said that because after I took Levaquin I started having bad muscle spasms and pain! It's been over 4 yrs now.

@lungdart.. I agree he is talking out of his bum! Fibromyalgia means: Fibro=fibrous tissues, tendons and ligaments
my = muscles; algia = pain. so it is "in latin" pain in the fibrous tissues, tendons, ligaments and muscles. I have fibromyalgia and have no thyroid problem.

@uclalse Sorry, didn't got your message earlier. How I know it's working fine? Blood tests and Vitamine B12 injections. Energy level went up, but pain's still there. I'm very open minded and have tried a lot of things to get rid of the pain, but no luck so far. By the way, my doctor is open minded too, so no complains about treatments I want to try. She's more then happy to let me try.

Hypothyroidism can mimic FM, and with FM many people have thyroid issues...but this is not the CAUSE of Fibromyalgia. If it were he wouldn't be the only person who thinks so. Try logging onto the NFRA or NFA websites to learn what Fibromyalgia is before you make any judgments. There are a lot of good (and bad) comments here, but the truth is that FM is still mostly a mystery to the medical community. If it were that simple, we'd all be on thyroid supplements and living happy.

Got fibro? Do yourself a favor and check your medical records to see if you'd taken Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox or any other quinolone antibiotics in the weeks or months prior to your symptoms arising. Doctors give out these terribly poisonous drugs like they're candy, and they are known to cause DELAYED REACTIONS that mimic fibro symptoms nearly perfectly. Because of this delay in reaction time, many people never make the connection between the drugs and their new mysterious health problems.

this guy thinks that fibro is caused by low thyroid, lol....all i can say to that is he needs to get fibro then maybe he will take it more seriously.
This doctor doesn't know what he's talking about.

i am treated for hypothyroidism. i just had a blood test and it is in control. but my fibromyalgia is worse. i am still in constant pain. this has lasted for 3 years. i see 2 separate doctors for the 2 illnesses and they are in touch with each other regarding my case.
my point is, though the 2 diseases may be related, treating hypothyroidism will not make fibromyalgia disappear.
