@stardingo747 how does boxing protect the nards...? This is only sparring, not fighting

Very disappointing

the blue man is better than the black man, am I right?

idiots fucking idiots. most of the world is full of them, unimaginative uncultured morons.

@Siddthartha Well sorta.. However, if one's soft styled defense can't effectively fend off a brutal attack, then there's something wrong with said defense. Like If someone beats me, it's always my fault, whether they adhere to the principles or not. I take the lesson, and thank for it, never ever make excuses like "he's too hard/stiff/brutal". (But of course one should guide other practioneers along the right path, and help them correct their mistakes, but that's another issue..)

@bookguy12000 Nah, while that may be the case in some instances, it's not the main reason. To bounce someone with lu is a lot harder than using say ji or an, so most taichi people with some skill will not expose themselves enough for someone to really apply it. Against a skilled opponent you will usually only be able to use a short lu, and then change and use their reaction to throw them with some other method. However you do see lu applied beautifully at 0.47 and 2.15.

Siddthartha - Thanks for the in-sightful reply.

@uniforce101 it's more likely and looks like that Xin was trying to break through a soft-styled defence of opponent by a brutal force. sure if you want you can push with a great force in tuishou, but it is justifiably only when effective!
his attempts did'nt cost energy what he used.

@Siddthartha - Xin did seem to be too agressive. It is allow to disengaged once you feel you are ''caught '' at a disadvantage. This is what Xin is doing from what I see. Correct me if I am wrong. - From a novice point of view.

they're masters but it seems like they let their ego gain too much control, and that's why they didn't use 'lu', just a lot of pushes.
I assume that some of the posters did not notice that this is a PUSHING HANDS competition...

stick with the opponent, follow the movement, and let them build momentum, letting the momentum build, build, and build, and then at the moment of distraction, use the momentum to push, trip, or throw. Yeah, yeah, I fucking get it, but will someone PLEASE, answer my fucking question, how the hell does this martial art defend the nards? I mean, is Tai Chi so lost in deep philosophy that it forgot about protecting the balls in a fight?
