  • Hi john

I watched almost all ur videos. i have buff brahmas and a pair of dark brahmas i live in pakistan and it is too hot now a days (summer season) can u suggest me the food according to the weather coz i lost my buff cochin in a sigle day but dun wana lose brahmas

    Kindly suggest

  • @mandibleee I´m sorry for your loss! As for special food for summer heat, our birds love melons and other "watery" fruits, but also cucumber and other vegetables, and salad of course!LOL! Other than that we sometimes freeze full waterers overnight and when we put them in the garden the water thaws during the day while the birds are drinking. And we are planting trees to provide more shadow. Hope it helps!

  • I love Brahmas! I've had bantams before, never seen a large one. But although roosters are said to be wild, these guys tend to be really calm.

Beautiful bird. I think he's cute, not sure why people are afraid of them.

  • Thanks!

  • He is lovely. I breed Dark Brahmas so I certainly appreciate the heft of that big boy!

  • Thanks! Yes, big and most of all muscular. Though his weight is not this high, he really looks taller than he is. Most of all he has very powerful legs - and he knows how to use them...;-) He´s quite a personality, and we like him!

  • Hehehe, yes, he´s rather patient and calm towards humans. But wait until he sees another cock with hens! He´s a superb fighter who has already killed 2 other cocks in combat because I was too slow to seperate them...;-( That´s one of the reasons we don´t breed him anymore. He´s 163 weeks old by now and still running in our males-only flock, BTW.

  • Thanks! Yes, he looks rather impressive, uh? I must say I like this ferocious look, but in reality they look wilder than they are, so no need for fear...;-)

  • wow he is soo tame

  • Damn...I thought my Rhode Island Reds where big, that thing is huge and beautiful! Looks like a hawk.
