Fuck Chevron. Bob Eaton, corrupt POS former Chairman of Chrysler responsible for many safety defects and knowingly doing nothing about them is now on the board of directors.

Shareholders are interested in protecting their money so that they can ensure that their investment will enable them to consume in the future (Retirement). You both have really valid points. But in the end, it all leads back to the consumer. The reason Chevron secures these resources is because the market (Demand) tells it to. These organizations are made up of individuals that share the same concerns that we do, but the organizations are "dumb" in that for the most part they react to legislation, shareholders, and consumers, the consumer factor being the largest.

It is way more complicated than that. Corporations practically run our government, the mainstream media- which is owned by a select few- supports corporations, and our education system is extremely dumbed down to the point where people are divided on politics and kept apathetic. It's the whole fucking system and the consumers are only doing what society tells them to.
