A thinly-veiled reference to Superman's origins in Dragon Age : Origins. Origins all around really.
Lots of people have wondered how you get this cutscene and how you find the ore that comes with it, but really it's a random event so the more you travel the more likely it will be to happen.

Note that Superman's mom's name was Lara, Laura or Lora depending on who you want to believe.
