  • One of my fave films of all times (Mr Poitier!!!!!!) Many parallels&prophecies. Mr Poitier happens to be married to a caucasian woman named Joanna (Shimkus, for over 30 yrs); I'm sure they've had issues w/ ignorance (maybe not as bad as in 1967), but perservered. His character speaks of his children being pres. - now there IS a bi-racial pres. Aside from these and many other instances, tho, yes, the dialogue IS profound! That's what made the film. Too bad everyone can't think that way...
