  • Faith and reason do not have to oppose each other. As a Catholic, I don't have to ignore objective truth. I can learn about science and be a nerd and it doesn't oppose the long faith and tradition that is part of the religion to which I subscribe.

  • My huge love of science has bolstered my faith in God, not threatened it. I know the world is geniusly and expertly made.

  • @AnthonyVonHertzon123 if there was a story of a woman named Katie who was a virgin who birthed a daughter who would later become a prophet of the religion "Belliner" this was able to be possible because Belliner, by the power of his hand, just made it so. would you believe it?

is this reasonable? in order for these stories to make sense we need to sacrifice either faith or reason. as much as it may be convenient to have both, it is just not possible.

  • "It doesn't seem to me that this fantastically marvelous universe, this tremendous range of time and space and different kinds of animals, and all the different planets, and all these atoms with all their motions, and so on, all this complicated thing can merely be a stage so that God can watch human beings struggle for good and evil — which is the view that religion has. The stage is too big for the drama." - Richard Feynman

I think deism is more likely correct than theism.

  • @Mystro1989 Essentially she conceives by God's hand. In human terms, she is a virgin to man but not to God. I dont like explaining it that way because it's not really intercourse or sex in anyway but rather God's power over Mary's womb but I cant think of a different method of explanation...

  • @Mystro1989 Mary herself actually had a very similar question. Gabriel says ""And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS." Mary proceeds to ask. "How can this be, since I do not know a man?"

Gabriel's Explanation: "[The] Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God."

    Luke 1: 31, 34, and 35

  • @phasmafortis1926 they do oppose each other. saying they don't is just wishful thinking. example, Jesus born of a virgin yet you need a male and a female for a child. explain this to me while still being reasonable ...

  • @musicmama888 that's because you're a tool,but it really doesn't interest me.

  • @musicmama888 Ok but then why is the majority of the scientfic community and the overwhlming majority of the scientfic elite atheist/agnostic...also the odds of the current theory of rna formation at a one in a billion chance(on eath like planets)...which leaves about 1 billion earth like planets in the entire universe with life...there are other theories that would dramatically increase this number but they have not been throughly tested....

  • @GildedWildebeest Entitled yo your own facts...thats the stupidest thing i have ever hear...You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts

  • @phasmafortis1926 they kind of do oppose each other....

  • @OrangeHatVlogger It was proven about 150 years ago you apparently were not listening...
