Actually calling Ivory coast 2nd in group isn't so strange, they played great on wc 2006, kicked tha sheet out of argentinians but they were out of luck.

But you kicked in the dark with France.

I'm really hopeful Ivory Coast pulls it off especially after Portugal's performance today against Cameroon.

If Eto'o hadn't been sent off I really believe it would've been a draw.

Now about France YES most will say it's wishful thinking BUT it's happened before and this group will be fiercely competitive between Mexico and South Africa and not a walk in the park for Les Bleus.

They scored a penalty and a deflected while the Americans scored a clean goal.

YES the Dutch are stronger and have a proven record but in my HUMBLE opinion both teams in fact have VERY similar styles of play and I was VERY impressed with how well #14 ranked USA held off #4 Netherlands.

Don't forget the Dutch have never pulled through at World Cup on the other hand USA has been consistently improving.

well u are not very good on predicting aren't u? Cmon Uruguay have a great team, how could they not pass in a such weak group?? Very good for african nations? Their football is so far from Europe and South America!! Actually the only african nation that really could aspire next was Ivory Coast but they are with Portugal and Brazil in the group, so...my prediction is that no african nation will pass group phase.

we seriously need 2 step up our game if were 2 end the 44 year wait!! we should be beatin the yanks hands down, WE ARE ENGLAND!! just hope that stevie gerrard keeps on doin what he's been doin for many years at Liverpool & leadin by example & dictatin the game. i pray that gerrard doesn't leave Liverpool, but 2 be honest its lookin like he might. the ONLY gd thing that might come out of him leavin is that his price tag will go up if he has a decent world cup & we could get a nice price 4 him!

She makes a good point about Group A: It is a wierd group. South Africa may become the first host nation not to make it to the next round. They looked so promising in 2002, what happened. However, any of these 4 teams have the potential of finishing last, and except for South Africa, any could finish first. Advancing from a group of death good. Don't know, in 98 when Nigeria and Paraguay advanced, they both were eliminated in the next round. the real groups of death here are D and E, not F.
