March 7, 1993 - My flight from Washington Dulles to London Heathrow aboard the British Airways Concorde. This was shot with Sony Hi8 camera on a SteadiCam. The pilot was so fascinated with the SteadiCam that he invited me into the cockpit. This was the experience of a lifetime! The return flight is also here on youtube. Search for London to Washington. Enjoy!

Yeah.. what with the 4 huge Rolls Royce engines pelting out the power needed to continue flying near the edge of space at 1,360mph.. What were the designers thinking?..
Well, I will tell you. How NOT to kill 100 people. How to put 100 people high above the earth at Mach2.00. For 3 hours. And land them safely. Without NASA. Or a rocket. In the 1960s. With just a slide-rule, & no PC to help you.
I think, just a tinsy winsy little bit of cabin noise is not a bad result.. Under the circumstances.

Have you ever see a swan flying?
It looks like a beautiful white swan with a shape of its neck and everything! And somehow the americans killed this beautiful white swan, an icon of Europe, both France and U.K.

Fastest air breathing aircraft ( over a distance of 3900miles -The SR71 needed to refuel after 2900.) the world has ever seen or ever will. I master piece of French and British engineering. The Americans tried to kill it even before it entered service, because it was too noisy. They eventually killed it when they left a piece of one of their aircraft on the CDG runway...

Is there any other reason this plane was discontinued other than it was too expensive? Just wondering, I wish this thing was still around today :')

So sad to see such a beautiful bird no longer in service. I'd love to see this in service for some of the trips we have today. Would shave a lot of travel time off flights, but, I know it was expensive......

Money... And Environment.. For some reason burning a ton of fuel for speed isn't smiled upon anymore.

Because of the decibel restrictions on airports, as well as the sonic boom effect on the ground (which some have experienced due to rattling porcelains or glass, "disturbing" their sleep.)
