It's been a while since I posted a longplay on here. I more or less ran out of Speccy games I fancied playing through that someone hadn't already posted but I've come out of semi-retirement for another.

I tried to play through this some time back but ran into a bug on level 25 which made it uncompletable. However, the original author, Colin Stewart, got in touch with a fixed version and I finally get to finish the game. As with more or less every Speccy game, the ending wasn't worth the wait since it only loops around to the start.

This is still a fun little game anyway and well worth playing. The pace is a little sedate these days so I played it at 2x speed. Many thanks to Colin for taking the time to work on this 25 years+ later.

  • Good to have you back Pix. Interesting looking game, looks pretty fun and challenging. And yeah it wasn't really worth it for the ending was it? I'd be pretty pissed personally to have to go through all that for a looped ending.

  • @Otouto72K had this on a compilation and played it quite a bit back in the day. My hopes for any sort of reward for completing Speccy games are never high. Any ending is better than none at all though, with the possible exception of Airwolf.

  • Welcome back Pix. Another marathon epic from you. It reminds me of Hypa Raid with the teleport pads. Can you get Mr Stewart to write a proper ending as well. I always hated loop arounds.

  • @SPINNYFUCK He said he ran out of room but I'd have gone for 40 levels and an ending given a choice. There is a new and improved version being worked on so maybe in that one.

  • Now that's dedication, Colin working on it and fixing it for you. I loved this game back in the day, I found it atnospheric and a great platformer, dodging around, like Chuckie Egg. My favourites were Lords of Chaos and Laser Squad and Karnov...and the loading screens, they allowed me time to read Spectrum Magazines in between games:)

  • @9Pix9

Either that or just load the ending separately from tape to use all of the RAM on a good ending sequence.

  • The new and improved version does include a special ending, so that should keep everyone happy!
