My Soldier episode 1 (new series)

Im 21, I've joined the army here for 3 years. Here, at the training base in afganistan. I came here right when I got out of highschool, since I didnt get along with my parents. I take my job very seriously, Ive just been promoted. Im now a senior adult soldier! It just means that I get to train the new arrivals, which isnt always good. Most of the guys who apply are guys that were on the football team in highschool. They think there tough enough-but they really arent. We dont get many girls anymore, which really stinks, but Im not here to make friends. Im here to serve my country!

nicks POV
Im 22, Im on my way to an armed forces base in afganistan for the second stage of my training. This is gonna be easy though. Ive been working out my entire life! theres nothing they can throw at me that I cant handle!

selena-(walking up and down, inspecting the rookies)(stops)
nick-yes?
selena-(turns to) take off the cap.
nick-(takes off his hat)
selena-what is this?
nick-uhmm I think its hair(smirks)
selena-this is no place for sarcasm Jonas.(takes a small book out of her pocket) it clearly states, in section 3 subsection 4, roman numeral 5...that all mens hair must me shaved and all womens hair is to be up at ALL times.(looks at him) are you a woman?
nick-no.
selena-then the next time I see you, I expect to see a shaved head(keeps inspecting)

(that night)

nick-(laying on his cot, in his cabin) I cant beleive she thinks she can just tell me what to do.

nicks POV
Me and cody have been friends since Jr highschool. We decided we would join together, hoping we would be put in the same troop. Cody takes this really seriously though. Hes here because his dad was killed in combat, so he feels he has to serve to honor his dad. You dont wanna grow up and be your parents. Im here becuase my parents thought I was gonna amount to things like yale and harvard! wrong! they wanted me to become a docter, or a phycologist, or a business man. Truth is I hate blood, dont care about peoples thoughts, and I do NOT like desk jobs. They think im in new york, building a company. Boy are they wrong.

selena-Im not leaving(reading the rules and regulations book)
joe-sel, put down the book. Youre a great soldier, stop worrying.
