you'd better write to NASA immediately.
I dont' think they are aware of these "ice ages" of which you speak...

@SephieRothe (Sorry for taking up space) Also specifically for citrus, which are a subtropical fruit that does not need chill hours, rain fall is a major factor in size of fruit and quantity produced. Dry years result in reduced crops and malformed fruit.
-
@SephieRothe Also if they get too many chill hours then the fruits will set prematurely and might be damaged by a frost. The subtraction of chill hours for warm weather in winter is normally only relevant to subtropical regions like parts of the Gulf Coast and Southern California, but in the last decade has come up in areas that are normally considered to be temperate.
-
@mattschnetter I don't know about CO2 levels, but for pomes (apples, pears, etc.) and for pit fruit (peaches, cherries, plums, etc.) change in wintertime temperatures has a major effect. These fruits require a certain amount of hours below a certain temperature (called chill hours) during winter to set fruit. If the temp goes too high you subtract chill hours from the total. In recent years there has been crop failures in southern areas of USA from too few chill hours.

In other words, Grump... William Happer is full of shit and reeks of corruption.
-
Do you ever do your research on people you quote?? HAPPER is NOT an atmospheric physicist, he's a physicist of optics/spectroscopy, he's on the George Marshall Institute board of directors. For more on that institute, please refer here: " sourcewatch. org /index. php?title=George_C._Marshall_I
nstitute " As for Happer HIMSELF, refer to here, please: " sourcewatch. org /index. php?title=William_Happer " and " exxonsecrets. org /html/personfactsheet. php?id=609 "

Hi Peter, love the videos. As an environmental econ loving grad student I have to ask you about the CO2/plant thing. What's the saturation level before plants have adverse affects and what about fruit trees? I read a study (I think) that talked about increase oranges from a CO2 rich environment. Thanks, and keep it up!

@mattschnetter
am not an expert on fruit trees.
for an example of what increased co2, plus severe heat and drought, do for plants, see this year in Texas.

for more on co2, climate change and plants, google
skeptical science, co2 is good for plants
