This was written as a sequenced bassline from the beginning. Its main purpose was to explore dance rhythms and Geddy's interest in synthesized soundscapes. I remember reading the interview back in the 80s because I was getting deeper into synths as a result of playing Rush songs.
From that, I evenually found myself 3 years on writng acid and house tracks. Rush just doesn't influence rock musicians.

I'd like to see this song live, and also the Weapon, Chemistry, Something for Nothing, the Big Wheel, and Cut to the Chase.

This song is so dang funky besides being brilliant, because it's Rush. It's wanktastic funk stomping boogie.

I'm so glad RUSH exists. For these guys to make songs like this in THAT period when "pop" music was so over the top, really makes me feel good. AWESOME VID!!!

@ryno324 Yeah, I fondly recall the days of $10 tickets. Long gone.... I paid over $100 on tickets for the upcoming Gorge show.

@TheJCArena was at the Presto Tour when they stopped at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin in 1990, they did almost all the songs from the album, plus they brought back Xanadu from the archives, along with several others, such as Red Barchetta

Wow! I can't believe they did this live! I've been listening to this album a lot lately and thought I'd check to see if there was video for this song. I did not expect to see a live performance. Simply amazing, these guys!
Where did you get these videos from presto and counterparts?

If it's a DVD, a simple DVD player application will do. You can even use Windows Media Player, or download a freeware program called VLC Media Player. :-)
If it's audio, it's most likely in SHN, FLAC, or APE format. You'll need a media player that can play those types of files, or just download a free program called "Trader's Little Helper" to decode the files to WAV. :-)
