  • @NearAbbeyRoad you were right in saying a player is a product of his time as in my eyes that means the training and fitness levels todays players are a product of this time and all the perks that go with it, so if a di stefano played today hes a product of this time as in he gets todays training and fitness coaching, and like wish messi back then would be a product of then not now.

  • @NearAbbeyRoad edwards would stand out today he could run and run and so your telling me the likes of best,di stefano and pele would not be great today, when players with not even half there talent play today also yea long ball was used in that game but if you watch the full game you'll see its not all long ball

  • @NearAbbeyRoad yea i saw that but how fairs that tell me that how fair is it to talk about a 50s player in todays game with the same fitness levels he had in the 50s yet put the likes of messi back in the 50s weith the modern fitness and training it works both ways.

if footballers played now from then they'd still bve great why because they'd have the same training and fitness levels and a lighter ball, put messi ect back then they'd not be as fit as now for the same reason

  • @thetoon99

They would marmalise those in the 1950s. A company analyzed the 1957 FA Cup final in 2007, Busby Babes and all. It was all long ball. Pretty pathetic really. They were not frightened to pump speculative long balls as they would get the ball back pretty soon, because the opposition did the same.

The fitness levels today are vastly superior. Skill levels are a world away from then.

  • @NearAbbeyRoad if that was true then the likes of messi, rooney ect of today would not stand out in the 50s.

  • @NearAbbeyRoad he would not stand out who says that your in law or you if you do you mean all players of that time would not stand out today, which is daft to say a great player then would stand out today no problem.

  • @thetoon99

His was of awe at the time. Unfortunately, these days he would not stand out. He was of his time.

  • @NearAbbeyRoad cool yea big dunc could suyre put them away hard and fast whats your in laws memories of him.

  • @thetoon99

My in-law went - he always remembered the goal as he was quite far out.. Everton tonked Man U 5-2 at OT only a few months before so highly unlikely to be defending most of the time.

  • @NearAbbeyRoad no offence but how would you know who was on the back foot in this game, i spoke to a guy from this era he told me the goal was missed because of the camera there was like 1 camera in they days.
