Secondly, English has been in India for over 300 years, thanks to the British colonizing us, and once they left, it became a part of our culture. It's not some thing that only the 'urban' people indulge in, its everywhere. this comment is for those who think comparing Indians to europeans sound cute or it make you sound attractive.Since when whites became to barometer of ethnic beauty ? really !!!.A japanese, a latino and a south indian all "brag" about how they look more like whites.Seriously what would be god's point of creating diversity if everyone want to look like europeans.FYI 90%of people on earth have dark brown eyes and black eyes and most have a colour much darker than whites.Just love yourself people.

@panniize You said that English is a benefit to India in helping you get an edge over other nations. I only stated that the evidence, in the case of China, says otherwise. You do make an interesting point about multicultural pluralistic democracy. At this time, however, IT seems to be what is keeping India BEHIND China. China's one party totalitarianism allows for more efficient planning and execution of its fast growth. Whether this can continue, is to be seen. I do prefer India, though.

Also, India is the 4th largest economy in the world not to mention one of the fastest growing in the world, but it has a long way to go to catch up with China. But I'd rather be in India than in China because of the multicultural pluralistic democracy, which will benefit India in the long run.
