New Kigali, RWANDA "Complete Version"

The Kigali Conceptual Master Plan is based on research and analysis of a wide range of background conditions and technical aspects, as outlined in the Existing Conditions Report.

It is hoped that the Kigali Conceptual Master Plan will help to create a city that is:

A symbol of the Rwandan culture that serves as an example for modern Africa;
A livable community that supports a sense of belonging, cooperation and healing;
A model of environmental protection and which minimizes pollution and waste;
In sum: a model of environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

"Existing houses will be reorganised" What does this mean? The new housing development is home to hundreds of Kigali's poor - where will they go? Is this in your plans too?

@MrShep3006, I don't know if you have idea of Kigali City Masterplan... Kigali size(sq m) has been upgraded and this will enable to built houses for all revenues categories. I have example for you, in Paris there are 20 Districts and suburbs.The persons who leave in 8/7/6 Districts have higher income than people who leave 19/20 districts. It will be the same, Kigali city will have premium district for high income and suburbs and some districts for middle and low income. hope this help!

looks good but it will need a shit load of money! how will this be funded? Diamonds? It kind of worked in Botswana but their entire poulation is under two million I'm sure Rwanda has many more people then that thus more resources required. Yes I agree good luck to you.

Waouu, j'ai toujours rêvé de voir ça de mon vivant. Une Afrique qui prend son envol et sa revanche sur le monde.

GD1078@, comme tu le dis si bien, quand on veut on peut. De toutes les façons ça ne coute rien d'essayer! J'espère seulement que Kagame a les moyens de ses ambitions. Car un tel projet il faut au moins deux générations pour le réaliser, mais rien n'est impossible. Espérons seulement que les autres pays africains suivront la vague Kagame.
