Barrel Racing @ Lauderdale, MS PRCA Rodeo 4-17-09

First out Angel Miller...hit a barrel to place. I was next and decided to go in and set up. I don't think Comet or I were ready for the first barrel. But with all the bouncing around we were still just out of the money. Next time I will probably just take off from the side gate!

Again, stop whipping Comet. He runs for you like a pro. You whip him so violently, too...it's ridiculous. You've got a fanastic barrel horse, give him the respect he deserves as he works very hard for you. Stop whipping him.

I agree, I also think it is stupid to have the tractor sitting down there and to not use the whole arena and move the timers back and barrels. But that's rodeo!

That's what I wanted to do but they parked the tractor right where I wanted to circle back and you only had one maybe two strides before you hit the timers.

I wouldent have run in from the side gate. I would have trotted a circle at the other end of the pen to line up. But i know some rodeos are wierd about letting you do circles.

I wyould personally rather have my horse hunt the 1st barrel from a blind alley way than a side gate. I watched five out of ten girls in the perf hit the first barrel that took off from the side. I didn't want my horse to drop his shoulder coming across the pen like that but going in and setting up screwed up our timing. So next year I might just run from the side.

haha.. Im working on uploading that video of my mom and jade.. overall I believe we had the Stop N Turn too tight on her.. I had noticed it when she was warming her up.. but there wasn't much we could do.. (no hole puncher) So I told her to try and ride with her hand foreward..She tried.. We have this weekend at rainbow to try again ! : )
