The CEO was delivering some difficult news; business was way off (as it is with the entire meeting industry.) And they had suffered some recent layoffs.

Brad's job was twofold: to put the recent hard times in perspective, and to help them bring a positive attitude from this time forward. Basic Motivational Speaker Stuff. : )

And it was all supposed to be lively, upbeat, and very, VERY funny.
