Lecture on the importance of exercise immediately after weight loss surgery given by Claudia P. Ramirez, MS, CSCS. This lecture is given at 1-week post-op to the patients at The Texas Center for Medical and Surgical Weight Loss in San Antonio, Texas.

Topics discussed in this lecture include cardiovascular training - walking - beginning immediately after surgery until week 3. Beginning in week 3 a machine based circuit training workout is implemented. In week 6 to 8 (or when your doctor has cleared you for free weights) a dynamic workout is implemented to incorporate more body movement with resistance training through free weights, medicine balls and resistance bands.

All of these programs can be done at a gym, home or local park.

Claudia has over 16 years of experience in personal training, athletic conditioning and exercise physiology. She has been the Fitness Director at Baptist Healthlink since 2003. Claudia graduated from the University of North Texas with a Masters of Exercise Physiology. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Texas Christian University.
