@TerminalDeception Sounds about right...when i was in basic (briefly) our kill hat basically told us, "if you fuck up, i will kill you. This camp experiences about 3 accidents every rotation...how many more are up to you! But they CAN and DO Happen!" lol black friday was the best....

dirty little secret.....if a recruit is mentally ill, suicidal, or some emo crybaby beiber fan. all drill sargeants regardless of branch are trained to never show mercy on them (in public at least) if anything they will treat them WORSE after a breakdown/suicide attempt. if you give the impression that a recruits can get the sgts love or respect other than completing training, you get more breakdowns/suicides.

@greenmonsterfilm I know a Marine that buttstoked his DI with his rifle. The DI and his buddies pulled him aside during a nightfire course and beat the living shit out of him, leaving him with scars. In order to avoid being held for investigation (which would take months upon months) and to get the fuck off the island the fastest, he told the commanding officer he tripped and did not testify against the DIs.

@greenmonsterfilm Taking shit from the DI is part of becoming a Marine to enforce immediate obedience to all orders from those appointed above you. Refusal to follow orders is catagorized under "failure to adapt" and you will be discharged from service. The Marine Corps cannot have self-absorbed individuals in charge of other Marine's lives.

@EdHardyKid15 Thats why your not a Marine. It is against guidelines for a Drill Instructor to display sympathy towards recruits. It is expected that you don't understand, you are not a Marine. You have no business in conforming to this mind set.
-
That's what he gets for trying to garner sympathy from a DI. He shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place.

shit happens, i lol'd

@EdHardyKid15 Most recruits say they wont take shit from any DI when they first arrive. This is because they do not fully recognize their purpose as a recruit.
