I agree with you on many things. However, for a us Catholic Christian, Controception should NEVER be used. Sex is also for bonding and pro-creation between husband and wife. Check out Pope John Pauls Theology of the Body and Human Vitae. Also, to be Catholic is to accept all the teachings of the Chruch. Even if we don't understnad them. Just keep learning! =)
May Our Holy Mother pray for us.

It just goes to show that the 17 year olds you know probably come from dysfunctional homes.
22 and a virgin- so take that.

@sexypoo100 what are you like 25? I know tons of virgins. what are you talking about. I think that 75 percent of my school are virgins. well maybe for the seniors. But still there are tons of 17 year old virgins.

I meant I don't agree with the Church that condoms are harmful. The pill can certainly be harmful, no doubt. Just wanted to make that clear.

If only more catholics were like you. Even though you don't personally believe in contraception, you have an open mind and realize the importance of protecting our teenagers.
I'm Catholic myself and i don't agree with the church on contraception being harmful. However, i respect your opinion and would never say you are "wrong" just because I disagree.
Good message.
I don't think Catholics believe that condoms are "Harmful" the reasoning behind frowning amongst contraceptives is because it disables pro-creation, the only reason for sex- between husband and wife.

I strongly believe that we have to have a better support system in our schools. We need to have professionals available to discuss the consequences of sexual activity. I believe that contraceptives must be available. Even if these "Professionals" are young mothers. Their must be somebody available for teenagers to talk to about these issues that arise.

As a Child and Youth worker, I work with youth who are going through crazy changes in their bodies, hormones, family environments, peer pressure, ect.
Teenagers have a mind of their own whether their faith influences them or not. It is very unlikely that you will find a seventeen year old virgin walking down the street. Very unlikely.

Thanks for the post. It's complicated.
I am very much involved with my faith and understand the reasoning behind the beliefs of the Catholic church.
