  • Hello. "nao" is the name of the type of ship and was used by Columbus during the expedition. The registrated name as a trading vessel was most proably "la Gallega". Greetings. Peter Milger

  • Interesting evidence. You have me a bit confused though. Are you saying there was no santa maria or are you saying that the name of the ship was nao. Are they the same ship or is santa maria a non existant ship? Ive looked into the capitana extensivly but i also had done some research on the santa maria and the gallega.
