In a poverty-stricken land where survival is a daily battle, 78 year-old farmer Don Cheyo departs from tradition to make a better life for his family. To do this, he must make the difficult transition from destructive agricultural techniques to more sustainable methods. With the help of Juan Carlos and Sustainable Harvest International, Don Cheyo works to provide his family with organic fruits and vegetables that were previously non-existent in his rural village.

They face a huge challenge: How do you go against an entire nation's culture? How do you lead the younger generation away from slash-and-burn farming when it's all they know?

Planting Hope is a colorful, twenty-minute look into the Honduran landscape, and a call for grassroots agricultural reform--for the sake of humanity and the environment at large.
