I shot this with my new Nikon P7000, to see how it handles loud sounds with external stereo mics.

  • Does the camera have some sort of audio level adjustments or just auto? What mic did you have on the camera and did it have any limiter to make sure the audio had no clipping despite the camera's auto gain? It shoots nice video, by the way. Looks to be comfortable to hold too. Did it handle well?

  • @panmaew I didn't dig into the audio settings at all before making this video. I plugged in my Core Sound Low-Cost binaural mics (non-powered condenser mics) into the 1/8" jack and turned the camera to video mode, and then pressed the shutter to begin. No limiters used, so the camera handled all the gain adjustment automatically, I guess. Fairly comfortable so far, after about four days of using it (but not extensively yet).

  • @panmaew Thank you imfiver, the AGC appeared to work well but I noticed it bumped it up a little too fast after the sawing stopped in the middle of the video.
