If there was a Nobel prize for energy, Matt Simmons would have won a long time ago.

I agree with "BP is leasing 2 wells at MC252 watch this video shows both wells via BP rovers with different depths and latiude/longitude. Before the last tropical storm they were focused on well A which exploded."

his death doesnt give him any more credibility. the dispersant worked better than expected. there is still an enormous amount of tragedy and loss.

eld a huge short position in BP stock. He was increasing his short position at the SAME TIME he was being called by CNBC and friends to give an "unbiased expert opinion." If you can't see that Simmons was using his media loudspeaker to panic the markets/ line his own back pocket, then you're as blind as an oil-covered pelican.

@meushubris I have looked at the facts but you obviously have not. Matt Simmons lied about everything he said about BP. Now, a year later, look at the facts. No massive "pool" of oil in Gulf, no need to nuke the hole, no Ch. 11 bankruptcy within 30 days, no enormous second leak 5-10 miles away from the Horizon site, no third leak 30 miles away from the site, no unrecoverable ecological disaster destroying the entire Gulf of Mexico. These were all lies screamed by Simmons. Why?

@majarnag do you just search for matt simmons videos bashing him, or how about discussing the evidence and issues he brought about this crime.
Professional investment analysts don’t trade the investments they report on in order to remain objective. Could Simmons say the same about the companies involved in the Gulf spill? He held short positions on these companies and stood to profit from the devaluation of their stock. Given the platform he commanded as a make-believe financial journalist, this was HIGHLY UNETHICAL of him.

@majarnag Goldman Sachs shorted BP stock before this event and also shorted UAL stock shortly before the 9-11 incident. Professional investment analysts such as what is on CNBC are the worst of the scum.

@majarnag He probably shorted BP as peak oil is tightening its grip on the US. On the other hand Goldman did it because of foreknowledge of the oil spill event.

@ jimbobubbadj You're just a shill for COMEX silver. Pawn your 90 Proof Bull somewhere else cause no one's buying any.

@majarnag Why has silver been going up in price if no one is buying any? How can I be a shill for comex silver when I want to collapse the comex and wipe out JPMorgan?

Simmons was ousted from his firm due to credibility issues. Blatant conflict of interest with his 8000 short position on BP. Losing that short position and a pending SEC investigation was too much for the old SOB.

@majarnag How interesting it is that JPMorgan has 3 billion naked shorts against silver on the comex and nothing is done while Simmons gets the wrap.
