I try and try, but i can't think of the best words to describe how beautiful this song is. Cuddle up with your lady or man w/this one and imagine a quiet snowfall in the park on the Westside.

@y34r have you red Visions of Cody by Kerouac? It's got the exact same feeling. Jack was greatly inspired by jazz music.

i like the fair use quote in the description :)

@TheBlakest1 This tune is very similar to Giant Steps, but the key center changes by minor thirds rather than major thirds.

When I first heard this beautiful song years ago it actually brought tears to my eyes. The whole piece is so expressive. Thank you for sharing it.

Tuesday night, home from work, lady still on the job, place has a mild chill to it, throw your keys on the table, check the mail only to see little children running in your path, get back inside, look at the cognac bottle and starts thinking to self: "Let me put on my Coltrane...brutha dun had a pretty rough day." Sink into the corinthian leather coach, sit back, listen to this track, sip and just relax. Done deal.

I Love this song & Coltrane...it still leaves me in awe... it kinda puts me in a Bluelight in the Basement, swaying with the love of your life mood......
@Jzzlvrmee I am glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks of this song as a ballad version of Giant Steps. Central Park West is one of my all time favorites, especially during long Michigan winters. The paradoxically hopeful yet demure melody reminds me somehow of Christmas Time is Here by Guaraldi. No?
