Great job Barry informing folks of the Truth. Be wary of the mis-information promoted by folks that sell a product or are paid to advertise a product.

@MidwestProWash - Barry, I have some questions: 1) Is the bleach solution you use 40% bleach, 60% water?
2) Can I use CLOROX bleach or do I need to use POOL chlorine?
3) Do you use additives, such as TSP?
4) Will this bleach solution work on moss growth?
5) How do you apply the bleach solution? With a pump sprayer?
Thanks!

There is not one single person in my town that knows how, much less knows of roof washing. So, where do i get certified to do this? I plan on starting next year, and is certification really necessary?

Barry, I found you on some of the other Power Washing Forums a few years ago and this video was the catalyst for me going into the roof Cleaning trade. The information you gave was so clear and directly to the point that I knew my customers deserved to have this service offered to them by me as well. Now I have been a Reading Roof Cleaning Contractor for 3 years and my customers can not be happier. Thanks For being such a positive inspiration as a Indiana Power Washing Company.

@PaRoofCleaning at the time of the video I had no clue it would be so helpful to so many. It feels good to give back to the industry. I'm glad it helped you.

What is the ratio of bleach to water? And after I apply can I just use a regular hose to wash off. Thanks for the info.

@denet2469 Most guys start with 12.5% pool chlorine and cut it 40% bleach with 60% water. Some will also use additives like dish soap or TSP to help it cling to the shingles better. You can rinse the solution and dead algae off the roof after it has sat for 10-15 minutes and done it's job. A regular hose hooked to the water spigot is fine but might take awhile. We use our 8gpm pressure washer with a soft nozzle in it to speed things up.
