Peggy Lee made this song famous in '58 and Little Willie John before that. It's been covered in so many styles, but I haven't heard it done solo on acoustic guitar before. So hope you like my version.

  • This cover just made its way into my playlist.

Fucking awesome cover of a great song, you really made it your own, bro!

  • @spittle8 Thank you so much. Its one of the first songs I worked on where I could do a lead while continuing the rythm. Not such an easy thing to do solo on acoustic guitar. I'm glad it worked and you like it.

  • @gregjcase Yeah man, most people that try to play lead while singing and keeping the rhythm just sound like crap, but you pulled it off. Only a few guys can do that convincingly - Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hendrix, Knopfler - well done.

  • @spittle8 While I find it hard to put myself in the same league as the great musicians you mention, be assured that you really made my day by associating me with such accomplished guitar players. Much thanks to you.

  • actually though he was new talent in 1957, Elvis Presley was the first to send the song onto the radio charts.....on iis first RCA album after leaving the Sun Records label. We're talkin cross -genre too a little but Elvis' version is dynomite, Its got attitude, a sultry, sexy dynamic that is in my book a greatest tribute to this caliber of a song. Long live Peggy and Elvis!! -What Would We Have Without Music, Seattle, WA

  • @cww98168 Thanks for the comment. I never heard Elvis do it before, and you're right its great. But don't you think my version has a more sexy. sultry attitude and dynamic than E's version? Just kidding..............Thanks for the music appreciation.

  • Nice rendition!!

  • @Meganharris123091 Thank you much Megan.

  • omg this is amazing!

  • @kjohn0258 Thank you Mr. John, and you are right, your father's? version is incredible. Peggy's is probably the most famous and recognized, but everyone should look up and listen to Little Willie John's version.
