Going back to school at age 50 plus may seem daunting. But Cape Cod Community College student Elizabeth Alexander says she likes the fact that she found "a community" when she arrived at community college. During her coursework, she fell in love with communications. She is planning to work on a farm with a therapeutic program. Elizabeth endured some financial struggles when she decided to go back to school at age 50 plus, and she admits that her first semester was a hardship. But she applied for several scholarships and now has enough to live on while going to school and pursuing her dream. She found a wealth of support in the plus 50 student adviser on campus, who helped her establish confidence in herself.
